Free Electricity Sounds
Electromagnetic Sounds contain over 2 GB of electricity audio recordings that capture all sorts of complex electronic noises. You’ll discover dozens of electricity sound effects for layering, resynthesis, and other audio experiments.
When you listen to the Electromagnetic Sounds demo, it’s hard to believe that these noises weren’t synthesized.
But it’s true!
These are all real-world recordings of electromagnetic fields, electricity sounds, and electronic devices.
To record these electronic sounds, Marcel Gnauk of Free To Use Sounds took his trusty LOM Priezor antenna for a spin around Singapore. The antenna was connected to a Zoom F8n field recorder, capturing a crowded metropolis’s electromagnetic activity.
Marcel recorded numerous electric sound sources, including arcade centers, air conditioners, bus stops, vending machines, elevators, etc.
It’s amazing to hear these electricity sounds that surround us daily without us even noticing.
The included electricity recordings are ready for video projects and music production, but you can also use them to experiment with sound design and create custom sound effects.
With some processing and editing, you can transform these electronic sound effects into laser noises, spaceship sounds, or intricate alien soundscapes.
If you use Electromagnetic Sounds in your sound design projects, please share your work in the comments below. We’d love to hear what you came up with!
How to use Electricity Sound Effects
These royalty-free electricity sound effects are ready for your next video, music, or sound design projects.
Electricity sounds are ideal for adding realism to movie scenes depicting electronic equipment. Think of a scene that shows an old power plant. You can easily source some electronic sounds from this library for that scene.
Or, imagine a movie scene showing a superhero capable of blasting rays of electricity through his arms. These electric noises are perfect sounds for that scene.
You can also use electricity sounds for sound design. They are the perfect sound source for making cinematic sound effects and loops.
You can use electricity sounds as foley or process them to create custom sound effects. Read our “What is SFX” article for ideas on transforming audio recordings such as these into SFX.
