Magnetic Fields is an eclectic collection of 50 dark and atmospheric soundscapes crafted by Matt Bowdler, aka The Unfinished.

Free Soundscapes
The idea behind the Magnetic Fields sound library is one of dusty, mechanical, hyperreal atmospherics—glimpses into little worlds that may or may not exist.
These free soundscapes were constructed with various The Unfinished’s homegrown samples, which were then processed with various NI Reaktor modules.
Field recordings, vocals, and drum loops have all been given the Magnetic Fields treatment, providing a cool collection of curiosities ideal for ambient, sci-fi, and horror work.
Free Soundscapes for Kontakt
The library also includes NKI patches for Kontakt, enabling you to play these free soundscapes with a MIDI keyboard.
The main NKI file is located in the root folder, and it contains all 50 free soundscapes, which are mapped across the keyboard.
A bonus set of tuned NKI patches is located in the BONUS PATCHES folder. These additional patches work very well for playing weird pads and lead sounds.
The Artist
The Unfinished is a composer, sound designer, and producer based in London. He has worked on various projects, including Hollywood movies, hit US TV shows, and AAA video games.
You can take a look at some of The Unfinished’s commercial sound design work in his online shop.
I’m a big fan of The Unfinished’s sounds and patches, and it’s a huge honor to have one of his sample libraries featured on 99Sounds. For a “behind the scenes” look at how The Unfinished makes his sounds, check out our Artist Spotlight interview with him.
Summary
Magnetic Fields contains 50 atmospheric soundscapes in 24-bit WAV format. All included sounds have been created by The Unfinished. The raw WAV files are included in the SAMPLES folder inside the download pack.
The download pack also contains a set of NKI instrument patches, which can be loaded inside NI Kontakt 5. The patches are based on a custom script that was kindly provided by Tudor Nastase, aka Evoke.
Finally, the library contains an SFZ instrument patch with all 50 samples mapped across the keyboard. The SFZ patch is located in the SAMPLES folder. You can use freeware instruments such as Zampler or Sforzando to load the provided SFZ patch.

Am I allowed to use these sounds in a commercial game?
Yes!
Thanks much!

All in all, I had downloaded “Magnetic Fields” around 2018 or so, or earlier (it’s been a while) (;;;)
And I really liked listening to these sounds … But as I learned to use a D.A.W. at the same time and that I was not very strong in data processing, I had separated the files and then I had trouble making “Magnetic Fields” work with Kontakt!
Today I made a little progress, I understood that it was necessary to place the whole file in the bookstores …
Finally I will be able to really enjoy it instead of just fantasizing about what I could have done with these beautiful sound textures! I look forward! And see you soon, in music!
