InterSpace is a free sample library inspired by space travel and distant worlds, crafted by Johan Ekelove, aka Introspectral.
The Library
The library features various sci-fi sound effects, abstract sonic textures, and futuristic noises.
Introspectral told us that the library is inspired by an imaginary story of an abandoned spacecraft that is floating around in space without any crew or other kind of life form on board.
The ship is long forgotten by its creators, but its AI is intentionally drifting the vessel around in space, visiting various distant galaxies purely out of joy.
The Artist
This is the second sample pack by Introspectral, who is also the author of the brilliant The Weird Sound Samples sound collection, which was based on various bits and pieces from his album The Weird Side Of The Mundane.
We talked to Johan about his inspirations for Interspace in the recently published Artist Spotlight article. You can purchase Introspectral’s fantastic commercial sound pack called Samples of Tenalach on his official website.
Technical Details
All included samples are available in 24-bit WAV format. The download also includes instrument mappings in SFZ format, which can be loaded in compatible virtual instruments such as Sforzando and Zampler.
Contents
InterSpace contains 87 audio samples in total, based on the idea of an alien landscape populated by strange and, in some cases, indefinable sonic architecture. The included samples are separated into three different categories:
Atmosphere contains 13 abstract ambiance and drone-like elements with a somewhat dystopian motive.
Movement contains 48 sounds based on the idea of movement. Most of these sounds are highly textural and, in some ways, atmospheric.
Oneshot contains 19 one-shot samples, often short and to the point. Some are close to being percussive sounds, while others are more like FX sounds.
