Project Exodus is an epic free Kontakt library for electronic musicians, film score composers, sound designers, and anyone else looking to add that earth-shattering cinematic feel to their music or video projects.
The free download link is located at the end of this article.
Project Exodus – Free Cinematic Instrument for Kontakt
The library was crafted by Bryan Lake, aka Sound Author, who is the man behind our insanely popular Project Pegasus sound bank that was released in November 2014 and downloaded over 50,000 times so far.
Project Exodus picks up where Project Pegasus left off, delivering an even bigger collection of blockbuster movie-style atmospheres, pads, sound effects, and cinematic loops packed in a sophisticated custom user interface for Native Instruments Kontakt.
The short introductory demo video embedded below should give you some idea about the type of sounds that you’ll find in this epic free sample collection.
The library has three subfolders containing soundscapes, instruments, and sequences.
The patches were tweaked and edited with great care, so all that’s left for you to do is load the instrument on your computer and enjoy the ride.
The included patches cover many cinematic pads, huge soundscapes, drones, drum loops, and epic sound effects. The looped sequences are labeled with BPM info for easier integration into your digital audio workstation of choice.
To load a patch, drag and drop the NKI file into Kontakt, or use the built-in file browser.
Please note that the full version of Kontakt is required to use the patches without a time limit (this is a limitation of Kontakt Player itself). The library also contains a set of standard 24-bit stereo WAV files with loop markers, extending the list of compatible software to virtually all digital audio workstations and sampler instruments on the market.

Bryan Lake, aka Sound Author, is a composer, sound designer, and journalist based in Florida. He crafted one of our most successful releases, the fantastic Project Pegasus cinematic sound library.

Thanks For The Great Work !
Peace …………………….. raheem
Thanks Raheem!
outstanding work!
Interesting, I like!
Great !!! Thankx a lot !!
This is an outstanding gift. Thank you.
So, how do you install the entire thing into Kontakt? after unpacking, I see a ton of ski files, do I have to drag each of them into Kontakt or is there one file that I can install that will access the entire library like a normal Kontakt instrument?
Hey Nick,
Unfortunately, to create a commercial-grade Kontakt library, there is an expensive license the publisher must purchase. So, these are just NKI files you can either drag and drop individually within Kontakt, or just open one of them and use the left/right arrows to flip through the patches within the wrapper.
How do I unpack? I just keep getting RAR & ZIP packa@!
Simply extract the RAR and the ZIP. :)
Can anyone help me find a decent trailer sound effects pack? Quality WHOOSHES and KICKS and something like this. There’s so many packs here, I really need some help, 99sounds!
You guys rock.
Does not run with Kontakt 5.5.xx :-(
amazing work…really appreciate this
Once again too awesome. Project Pegasus inspired me to create my own virtual instruments by creating samples of chords for each key in 1 octave. Now i have a MULTI PART instrument with 5 layers that have 4 variations over 4 octaves. I could not have thought of this if not for Project Pegasus. If you are interested i will upload.
Thanks analogfrog! I’m flattered that you were inspired by Project Pegasus to create your own sampled instrument, which sounds very interesting. Where can we find it?
THANKS A LOT !
Very Interesting – but the *.nki files do not load under Kontakt 5.5.2 (Mac OSX 10.9.5)! Always get message: “This patch was generated by a newer version of this application. Please upgrade your copy to load the patch”. Any idea? THANKS
I had a similar problem a while back. I had to uninstall Kontakt and download the new version. Worked for me :)
Great sounds Bryan, really useful soundscapes. Thanks for putting these up.
Best S.
Awesome what more you need to say
SUPERB! Thank you so much. :-) x
Simply beautiful work… I wish I had run into this a lot earlier!
All of these sample packs are really amazing guys!! Thank you so much! You guys are so kind to share these amazing sounds with us.
THANK YOU SO MUCH! AMAZING WORK! :)
I get cannot locate libary??
This is fantastic, i do so wish that some of the libraries had more then one pitch that they based the sample off of. However that being said, it does give me some insight on what a person could do with a single sample and then toss in Photosynthesis Engine to create out own pads. For that I am grateful! That you for making beautiful sound textures!
Same here, I was caught completely by surprise by how good single-sample patches can actually sound, back when I heard Bryan’s Project Pegasus for the first time.
Bless you man i wanna donate but im broke defo gonna donate when i get my money up
Randomly came across this instrument. Decided to check it out and was instantly inspired by the sounds in the demo. Exactly the types of sounds I’m interested in. Huge, atmospheric, immersive, paints a picture, tells a story… Wonderful.
Thanks Vincent!
Can I do an app for android with a virtual piano with your sounds of this library?
No, using these sounds for creating virtual instruments is against the license.
Thanks man! Downloaded this and Pegasus. Good work! Donated $10.

Only opens as a demo then closes down after a while any ideas I am probably doing something wrong I just dragged and dropped.
You’ll need the full version of Kontakt to use this without the demo time limit.
Hi! Thanks for the library, sadly the link is dead. It says “File not found”. Would you fix it, please?
Hi Giselle, the link works fine here. Can you please give it another try?
Nice :))
Hi – I have the full version of contact. This times out as demo though. Am I doing something wrong or is there a fee to use? Thanks!
Can I use this in my short film?
Absolutely!
Unbelievably amazing. You guys are just super awesome!
I saw others were having a problem with navigation in Kontakt. I created a user file on my desktop. In Kontact full version , I navigated to that file and now the Kontakt browser recognizes the NKI files. Thanks… awesome work!!!
Merci beaucoup ;)
Thank you so much!! :)
Tresorit says this can’t be downloaded because the monthly limit has been reached. Is there another link available? I’ve noticed different products have different hosts … perhaps there’s a OneDrive link? TIA
We are reuploading everything to a new host. Please check back in a day or two. Thanks and sorry for the inconvenience!
Can I mix these sounds to create a song that I will then have to sell online on my site? I create music for meditations
Yes, absolutely!
Nice sound…thank you !
